Mini workshops

Mini workshops are defined as a 2-3 hour  to a 1 day workshop.  They can be introductory workshops or a workshop for Wu Tao dance class students.

An introductory workshop can consist of:

  • The history and philosophy of Wu Tao
  • Information about Oriental Medicine
  • Benefits of Wu Tao
  • A demonstration of the Wu Tao dances
  • Meditation on the 5 elements
  • Makko Ho stretches
  • Learning 1 or 2 of the dances.

A workshop for current students can consist of:

  • Meditation
  • Basic process work involving drawing
  • Expressive intuitive dance
  • Doing the Wu Tao dances within the context of the process work introduced.

Themes for process work include:

  • Focus on an element or part of the life-cycle.
  • Focus on a particular emotion.
  • Focus on restoring balance.

Process work questions can be simple, such as:

  • How do I feel?
  • What blocks my path?
  • What do I need to restore balance?

When doing the process work, 3 drawings is usually enough to take your students through a process.  Think of the present situation, problems/imbalances encountered, what is needed to create healing and balance.

Keep it simple, and avoid too much intellectual processing.  The beauty of Wu Tao and the drawing process is that they bypass the intellect and go straight to the body and heart.  Encourage release, moving through, letting go and trust in the process.

Introductory Weekend Workshops

Introductory weekend workshops take a greater amount of time, energy, focus and experience.  It is recommended that you only do a  Introductory 2 day workshop after you have been teaching Wu Tao Classes regularly for a minimum of 6 months. Below is a basic format for a weekend workshop
